A roof has a lot to contend with – atmospheric contamination and dust build up on a roof leads to the germination of moss and mould spores.
The amount of build-up is often dependent on the type of roofing material, the amount of sunlight on specific areas and the orientation of the structure to prevailing wind and rain.
If your roof is contaminated with mould and moss, these contaminated areas must be dealt with on a regular basis. Without monitoring, maintenance and preventative action, problems areas can lead to irreparable damage to the roof and possible loss of productivity.
This means a formerly ‘easy to rectify’ issue has now turned into a larger problem with greater cost and more difficulty in terms of correcting or treating.

Recently, Industrial Cleaning Specialists were called upon to inspect and recommend treatments to roof areas of a large number of buildings owned by a private school.
Inspections were carried out by our qualified roofing team: what they found was each roof was different and certain areas required a different approach to others. After careful and thorough consideration, the most cost effective solution was recommended.
Roof condition:
Some of the roofs were heavily contaminated with lichen and would need a different approach than a lightly soiled roof.
Access:
Access issues were also key when working at height. Our team took into consideration the best overall access approach and came up with a knuckle boom solution that would service all the roof areas; saving time and money.
Sanitas TC:
This is a highly concentrated moss and mould treatment and is very effective against lichen. Sanitas TC is diluted to the correct ratio and then applied by low pressure spray to saturate the area to be treated. No further action is necessary although very badly contaminated areas may require a second application.
With all jobs wer undertake our standard practice is to quote. In this instance the work required was quoted for on each individual building along with relevant JSA’s.
We have found that this approach allows the client to prioritise and programme a maintenance schedule for all necessary work that fits in with their school week and the overall school term.
What we delivered and proposed for this school is a cost effective approach that would deliver lasting results. This combination of ‘cost plus results’ is a business based model and overall approach that we always strive to achieve.
