The term “all purpose” gets thrown around a lot in the domestic cleaning industry. But, the truth is, there is no such thing.
Cleaning compounds and sanitising agents each have their unique qualities, and their application requires specific equipment and different techniques.
New products are constantly being introduced as technology develops and this demands that professional knowledge needs to stay up-to-date. Our team have an in-depth knowledge of all commecial cleaning processors as we believe ongoing staff training is essential in the world of commercial cleaning and sanitising.
All of our Red-Line team are given full training in the extensive range of our commercial cleaning processors. For both the use and care of equipment, the team are fully capable and up todate with all techniques before applying their knowledge in a practical environment.
Machinery can improve efficiency and lower labour costs
Cleaning and sanitising machinery needs serious consideration as a tool to reduce cleaning time and improve efficiency.
A typical cleaning operation has labour costs of 45-50% and water, sewage and energy costs of 20-25%. On top of all that, the cost of cleaning chemicals and sanitisers is 6-10%.
It can be seen that any increase in efficiency will save labour and have a dramatic impact on the overall cost of the work, therefore mechanical cleaning is often the best way to go.
We understand that no two commercial cleaning jobs are created equal. So whether your space requires basic supplies and equipment or specialised machinery, we have the treatment to suit.
Different jobs require specific technical services
We tackle a wide range of different jobs, each with their own specific requirements. For this reason we have an extensive list of commercial cleaning processors that will deal with any situation.
Our aim is to deliver the best possible outcome to our clients which means we approach each job individually.
Here we have compiled a list of our equipment and techniques with a short description of how each is applied.
Mechanical Abrasives
Very effective at removing heavy soil but not for surfaces that come in direct with food. Extreme care must be taken to minimise generation of surface slag.
Water hoses
For rapid and effective cleaning these must have fan type nozzles. We use this technique for complete coverage of large areas and for soil lodged deep within cracks and crevices.
Scrapers, Sponges and Squeegees
Tenacious deposits often require scraping, sponging or squeeging. This is particularly ideal for product storage tanks or when use of water needs to be minimised.
High pressure water pumps units
These portable units have a capacity of 45-70 litres per minute with operating pressure of 42 kg/cm². Some of our piston pumps can handle 300 litres/minute up to 60 kg/cm². Since these units use large volumes of water and cleaning compounds they are often considered too expensive to operate for some types of work.
Low pressure, high temperature spray units
These are used when splashing needs to be minimal, soaking operations and hand cleaning are impractical, or when the detergent stream is easily directed at the working surface.
High pressure hot water units
These units convert steam into pressure. The cleaning compound is drawn from the tank and mixed in the correct proportions with hot water. Pressure at the nozzle is directly related to the steam pressure in the line. For example, 40 kg of steam is approximately 14 kg/cm².
These units are easy to operate but have the same inherent deficiencies as high pressure water pumps.
Portable high pressure, low volume units
With a high-pressure nozzle, these units perform by an air or motor driven pump and a storage container for the cleaning compound.
These portable units simultaneously meter a predetermined amount of cleaning compound while mixing the right proportion of water and pressure. Ideally these units use 5-10 litres per minute with 30-70 kg/cm² pressure and a temperature of 55˚c.
With a lower volume and water temperature, they are highly effective and clean areas that are difficult to reach or penetrate.
Portable Foam Cleaning Unit
As a result of the ease and speed of foam application, this type of cleaning is the most popular of the mechanised systems.
The detergent-based foam clings to the surface and is clearly visible to the applicator, reducing the chance of duplication. Foam cleaning is particularly useful for large surface areas because of its ability to cling which increases the contact time of cleaning compounds.
We treat every commercial cleaning job as unique and we will provide a unique service to suit.
As cleaning and sanitising is not a one-size-fits-all operation, we assess every situation before commencing treatment to ensure we have the right tools and chemicals on hand.
